Afternoon out

Today I had the good grace to be invited along as a dear friend took her sweetheart daughter out trick or treating downtown. Daughter's costume was fantabulous, and she came home a nice haul.

Funniest part of the day though was the town emergency services folks. The cops and firefighters were encamped on opposite corners. The firefighters took a great delight in getting a little boy to walk up to the police officers and say -

"when I grow up, I want to be a fireman."

Did the cops respond by getting a kid to march over to the fireman's side and declaim "when ** I ** grow up I want to deal drugs from my squad car, support my fellow officers when they've broken the law, frame innocent suspects, raid people's homes for non-violent crimes, shoot dogs in their own yards, lie under oath, and analy rape people with broom handles"?

...or is that not the kind of thing that cops like to brag about up there?

Yeah. We did that to the cops way back when I was an engineer on a pumper, too.

It was an easy target, sure, but fun. :)

TJIC,

You think cops are bad, you should see what goes on in comic book stores.
